Joji Malani is an ARIA Award–winning Fijian musician who moves between experimental ambient guitar and rock and pop songwriting. His music is as informed as much by his Fijian homeland as is it by contemporary American and British rock, punk and post-punk music. In 2011, Malani formed Australian rock band Gang of Youths with his childhood friend Dave Le‘aupepe. In 2019, he left Gang of Youths to focus on his own project and in 2022 he released his debut album under the name Pei on his newly formed record label Broth.
For Volume, Joji Malani will perform as part of the Strings program.
