Future tilt is the first of Volume’s free weekend events. Featuring cutting-edge experimental pop and electronic drone harmonics, this day session is set in the depths of Naala Badu, the Art Gallery’s north building. For a single afternoon, the monumental Tank space will reverberate with a heaving mass of heavy drone, blissed-out soundscapes and AI-pop-infused hyper-electro.
Kombumerri artist salllvage will set the tone via his mutated field recordings from 2023’s lastwave EP. Then Ballina-based electronic experimentalist and Room40 artist Lydian Dunbar will present a new set filled with beat-synced ambient music. Lastly, Sydney’s DeepFaith take on the Tank following their recent tour of the United States opening for Genesis Owusu, and the release of their EP Gloria in tumultu, veritas in fragore prophetus insanum. Their performance will fuse the past, present and the future into a layered kaleidoscope of sonic and visual projections.
