Volume is held at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.

The Art Gallery of New South Wales is an art museum campus with two buildings and an art garden, on Gadigal Country. Naala Badu, our north building, is next to Naala Nura, our south building.
Our campus is located on the eastern side of Sydney’s CBD, next to the Royal Botanic Gardens and the Domain, just down the road from St Mary’s Cathedral. About 5 minutes’ walk from Macquarie Street, across the Domain, or from Hyde Park.

Transport
Bus 441 – Departs from the York Street side of Queen Victoria Building and drops off near the Art Gallery. Returns to Queen Victoria Building, picking up outside the Art Gallery.
Train – St James and Martin Place stations are both about 10 minutes walk.

Courtesy bus – On nights when the Art Gallery is open, a courtesy bus departs from the bus stop on Art Gallery Road near the Art Gallery every 15 minutes from 7pm until closing. Stops include various locations in the city with proximity to Martin Place (Macquarie St), Wynyard (Castlereagh St and Hunter St) and Town Hall (Castlereagh St and Park St).
Taxis and rideshare – Drop-off and pick-up zone on Art Gallery Road near the front of the Art Gallery.

Parking
Meter parking – On Mrs Macquaries Road and other streets around the Art Gallery.
Parking stations – There are several car parks near the Art Gallery. The closest are the Domain Car Park and The Wharf, Woolloomooloo Car Park, both of which can be booked in advance online.
Bicycles – Bike parking is available along Art Gallery Road, outside our north building, Naala Badu.
Buses – Drop-off and pick-up zone on Art Gallery Road near the front of the Art Gallery but no dedicated parking spaces.

General information
Food and drink – View the MOD Dining and atrium bar menus available during Volume’s ticketed evening performances. More information about food and drink options during normal opening hours is available on the main Art Gallery website.
Earplugs – Free disposable earplugs will be available from our staff during evening performances.
Under 18s – The Volume program is for all ages unless otherwise specified. Proof of age will be requested for purchase of alcohol.
Cash – Volume is a cashless festival, please bring your card to purchase drinks, food and merchandise.
Cloaking – There are free cloaking facilities near the welcome desk on the ground level of Naala Nura, our south building, and in the welcome hub near the entrance to Naala Badu, our north building. We encourage you to leave large bags at home.
Smoking and vaping – Volume is a smoke-free festival. Smoking and vaping is permitted across from the Art Gallery of New South Wales in the Domain.
Photography – No photography permitted for the ticketed performance events. In most places in the Art Gallery and on our campus, you’re welcome to take photos or make videos or films if it’s for personal use only; you don’t use a flash, selfie-stick, tripod or monopod; there is no sign prohibiting photography; and it doesn’t interfere with or disrupt other visitors or Art Gallery operations. Check with one of the uniformed gallery officers if in doubt.
