Live in the Tank

Kim Gordon is an influential American artist, musician, writer, fashion designer and pop-cultural icon. Renowned for her contribution to the musical genres no wave, punk and grunge, Gordon played a pivotal role in shaping Sonic Youth’s distinctive sound and aesthetic as a founding member and frontwoman of the band.

Exclusively for Volume, Gordon will perform music from her recent albums including her critically acclaimed second solo album, The Collective. Released in March 2024, and mixing oblique half-sung and half-spoken lyrics with scuzzy guitar, noise and trap beats, the album is an experiential masterpiece showcasing a 21st-century musical interconnectedness through lyrics, attitude, art and sound. Gordon and her band will present their powerful set in the Art Gallery’s atmospheric Tank space across two nights during Volume.

A pioneer, an artist, and a legend – Kim Gordon is a force to be reckoned with. This is an event not to be missed.
