Play on, play again,
play forever
Experience a live performance program presented in collaboration with the Asylum Seekers Centre (ASC) in Newtown. Play on, play again, play forever is designed to offer access and opportunity to asylum seekers who are passionate about music and its connection to art. Across the Art Gallery of New South Wales campus, a group of musicians will present a series of 30-minute live performances that respond to an artwork from our collection on display.
The ASC provides vital connection and assistance to those seeking refuge in Australia, offering essential services ranging from education to medical care, food, shelter and legal aid. Building on the Art Gallery’s longstanding partnership with the ASC, we are proud to include them in the Volume program.
Each live performance will serve as a rich dialogue between the Art Gallery’s artworks and the musicians’ compositions, providing a profound exploration of our collection and the stories it holds. Join us as we celebrate diversity, resilience, and the power of art to unite and uplift communities.
