Tkay Maidza, a Zimbabwean-born singer-songwriter and rapper based in Los Angeles, has been making waves since the release of her sophomore album Sweet justice last November. With tours across North America, a powerful performance at Splendour in the Grass 2023, plus national tours of Australia with Dua Lipa and Lizzo, Maidza’s impact has reverberated across the contemporary art world through her music videos and imagery, while her sounds have pushed the boundaries of 21st-century hip-hop and glitchy R’n’B. In a Sydney-exclusive event, Maidza will bring magic and energy to the Tank for one memorable night during Volume, before returning to the United States to play the indie Pitchfork Festival in Chicago.
